The Lincolnshire Environmental Awards, including the Lincolnshire Young Environmentalist Awards, are open to everyone and the organisers are encouraging groups, schools and businesses to get their entries in before the deadline on 30 April 2011. If you’ve not quite decided whether to enter or not, it is worth it and is very easy, all you need to do is write 200 – 300 words about your project and send it in. Or if you know of community group, business or school who are doing good things for the environment please encourage them to enter.
Chairman of the Award scheme and Lindum Rotary Club member, Roger Pavey said: "In the face of global environmental problems such as climate change and the loss of biodiversity it is all too easy to think that there is nothing we can do as individuals, small businesses or community groups. But the actions of people in Lincolnshire do make a difference. The awards recognise the actions that people are taking – however large or small, and hopefully inspires others."
