Description and Management

The Shrubberies comprise old parkland and pasture of a type now rare in the Fens with fine oak and other large trees. Some 49 species of birds and 12 species of butterflies have been recorded. There is a pond with a wooded island and adjoining marshy areas with fringing alders. The grassland is grazed and sometimes cut for hay. An acre of land was planted with native trees in 1989.
