Event details
About the event
Join the Barton Area Group for a relaxed winter birdwatching walk along the Humber bank, looking for waders in the river and winter finches at Water’s Edge. Everyone is welcome to come along - you don't need to be a member.
Meet at the car park at Ness End, Far Ings National Nature Reserve, for 9am to go together - car sharing is available. The walk will go from Water's Edge Country Park along the south bank to Barrow Haven, further out into the estuary. A wealth of bird life uses these habitats over the winter months.
This is a half-day activity and is expected to finish by around 1pm.
To get to Ness End Farm from Barton-upon-Humber, travel west along Far Ings Road, go past the brown signs for Far Ings Visitor Centre and past the turning for the hotel. The road narrows and after 300 yards Ness End Farm car park is on your right (please note that the postcode for satnav is DN18 5RG, but this will also take you to the main Visitor Centre car park).
