Wonders of Whisby: Sunset Celebration
Whisby Education Centre, Whisby Nature Park
6.30pm – 8.30pm, Friday 21 August 2026
Experience the sights and sounds of Whisby Nature Park as the sun goes down on this special evening for members and volunteers of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. This is your chance to enjoy views across Thorpe Lake that most people don’t see.
Early evening is when Whisby Nature Park and the Education Centre are most tranquil. Join us for this exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the centre - 25 years since it was opened – and discover some of Whisby’s wildlife. From the large dragonflies that make these lakes a Dragonfly Hotspot to bats swooping over the lake as the light fades.
The Education Centre includes adjacent grounds that are usually closed except for booked groups – these grounds will be open for this special evening event. There will be opportunities to wander through the grounds and join guided walks into the sanctuary area on the shores of Thorpe Lake.
Please join us celebrating the wonders of Whisby with a glass of bubbly (non-alcoholic) and nibbles.
Places are free but booking is essential to keep track of numbers. This special event is for members and volunteers of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust (aged 18+ only).
