The Lincolnshire coast is full of exciting and extraordinary marine creatures. From the familiar starfish to the weird and wonderful sea potato, and even pipefish! It’s only when we take a net along the shoreline that these coastal creatures seem to magically appear.Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust
National Marine Week runs from 23rd July – 7th August and aims to celebrate the magnificent array of marine species we have here in the UK, and raise awareness of the importance of protecting these species and their homes.
This year’s theme shines a light on extraordinary sea creatures, and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust will be running a series of FREE, family events across our wonderful Lincolnshire coastline!
Vicki Bush, Senior Education and Community Officer and Marine Specialist at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust said:
“The Lincolnshire coast is full of exciting and extraordinary marine creatures. From the familiar starfish to the weird and wonderful sea potato, and even pipefish! It’s only when we take a net along the shoreline that these coastal creatures seem to magically appear.
“These free seaside activities are a great opportunity to get involved with the work of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, to learn more about the amazing wildlife on our coast, and to do your bit in protecting it for the future.”
Whether you’re a seasoned explorer, an avid wildlife watcher, or would like to do your bit for the environment then check out our events and find one for you!
