Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Sea-Changers and Bunzl plc have joined forces to run the art competition to raise awareness of how litter is affecting the local environment and wildlife near where people live.
Selected artworks will become part of a display at Gibraltar Point’s Nature Centre from Saturday 28 May and Sunday 5 June 2022 to help celebrate the launch of a new water bottle filling station funded by Sea-Changers Coastal Fountain Fund, sponsored by Bunzl plc. It will help to reduce plastic waste by enabling visitors to refill their drinks bottles no matter when they visit the reserve.
The competition is open to all ages, any medium can be used whether it’s painting, drawing or sculpture, incorporating recycled elements or wild art using natural materials. Closing date Friday 13 May.
Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up in each category:
- Under 7 years old
- 8 to 12 years old
- 13 to 17 years old
- Over 18 years old
The prizes have been donated by Bunzl, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, Liga and Sea Change Wine and include goodie bags for the younger age groups, Wildlife Trust Vouchers, wine and Liga homeware with some environmentally friendly goodies and books for all age groups. A prize giving ceremony will take place on the 31st May.
