What is a Centre Maintenance Volunteer?

Our Centre Maintenance volunteers provide essential help for staff to run a busy and innovative centre. If you have some DIY and/or outdoor maintenance skills and would enjoy keeping active with a group of people then this could be the role for you.

What’s involved?

Assisting the staff with minor repairs, facilities checks and general premises upkeep. Helping to maintain the grounds around the centre that are used by schools and groups. Occasionally assisting with the preparation and construction of outdoor learning and events facilities.

Who would this role suit?

Essential skills/experience:

  • DIY and decorating skills
  • Grounds maintenance experience
  • A desire to make a difference to the running of a people and wildlife focused centre

Desirable skills/experience:

  • An awareness of H&S in Public Buildings
  • Some basic knowledge of plumbing would be advantageous
  • Some grounds maintenance experience
  • Basic joinery and woodworking
